KINGMAN – Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team led the investigation into how narcotics came into the jail that led to five inmates at Mohave County jail overdosing on April 16.

The investigation revealed that inmate Jonathan Hutchinson, 24 of Parker, smuggled in his body cavity approximately 30 counterfeit hydrocodone 30 mg pills, and an unknown amount of methamphetamine into the detention facility.

A small amount of the substance was located inside the housing unit in possession of inmates Michael Pauly, 29 of Mesquite, Nevada, and Anthony Colella, 52 of Lake Havasu City.

The substance was sent to Arizona Department of Public Safety crime lab and examination confirmed the hydrocodone pills were created with fentanyl.

The case will be forwarded to the Mohave County Attorney’s office for charges on Hutchinson, Pauly and Colella in regards to introducing and possessing prison contraband.
