Prep Baseball: 3 Bulldogs, 1 Tiger garner all-state honors
KINGMAN – The 3A All-State selections are in and four local athletes have made the cut.
Three Kingman High School baseball players were named to the list, while Kingman Academy garnered one honoree.
Bulldogs senior Luke Ness led the way as an all-state first team selection.
Teammate Rilee Araya picked up all-state second team honors, while Dante Bravo and Academy’s Wyatt Hall were named Honorable Mention.
Ness hit .360 in 26 games for the Bulldogs, finishing with 17 RBIs and a team-high two homers. Araya, meanwhile, ranked No. 1 in 3A with 92 strikeouts and his 1.29 Earned Run Average in 54 1/3 innings of work was the 14th-best in the conference.
Bravo led Kingman with a .371 batting average, highlighted by four doubles, three triples and 16 runs batted in.
The senior also made eight starts on the mound and finished 6-2 with a 1.55 ERA and 79 strikeouts, which ranked No. 7 in the conference.
Hall also had 79 strikeouts in a team-high 73 2/3 innings of work and his 1.33 ERA was 17th-best in 3A. The junior finished 8-3 in 18 appearances for the Tigers.
