Prep football: Kingman hosts Dysart; Lee Williams and Academy take to the road

KINGMAN – Lee Williams and Kingman high schools will be looking to climb over the .500 mark, while Kingman Academy will be looking for its first win tonight in week three of the high school football season.

Kingman is the only local team to play at home. The Bulldogs host Dysart High School at 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs (1-1) opened the season with a 16-10 win over Kingman Academy, and dropped a narrow 28-21 decision at Chino Valley this past Friday.

Dysart is also 1-1, shutting out Coronado 43-0 on Oct. 2 but getting shut out by Wickenburg 19-0 on Oct. 9.

Lee Williams (1-1) will play on the road for the first time this year, after recording the program’s first-ever win over Prescott on opening night before falling to visiting Coconino on Friday, Oct. 9.

The Volunteers take on host Bradshaw Mountain, which lost 34-31 to Flagstaff in overtime last Friday. The Bears hammered Mohave High School 56-0 in their opener. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Kingman Academy, coming off a 56-0 loss to 3A River Valley, will open 2A conference play on the road against the Tonopah Valley High School Phoenix.

Tonopah Valley is also coming of a lopsided loss, falling 49-6 to Arizona Lutheran at home on Oct. 9. They beat Valley Lutheran 28-7 to open their season.
