Obituary | Ann Leschnik

Ann Leschnik was born in 1938 in the small upstate town of New York, called Newburgh, near West Point on the Hudson River. Her mother, one of 10 children in the Cavanugh family, had little interest in raising the family, and her father went to war and when he returned he soon deserted them. Ann was the oldest; the raising of her brother and sister was left to her. Ann was also the smartest and she could help both her siblings with their school work.

She also worked in the kitchen of the hospital she was born in. Ann also worked for a period of time for the Air Force. Ann and her husband, Don, were both born and raised in New York. They came to meet in Phoenix when she moved there from Colorado and Don had moved from Wyoming. They met on St. Patrick’s Day and were married in Las Vegas, then moved to Kingman, Arizona. They have had a very happy time here in Kingman for the past 35 years. She lived as a housewife and Don as a pharmacist. They were absolutely inseparable. She is survived by her son Warren; daughter Sharon; sister Peggy; and loving husband Don.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Aug. 30, from 5 – 7 p.m. and the services will be on Tuesday, Aug. 31, at 10a.m. at the Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.
