Prep Roundup: Lee Williams boys nip Greenway 57-52
PHOENIX – The Lee Williams High School boys basketball team handed Greenway (3-1) its first loss of the year 57-52 on Friday, Feb. 12 in Phoenix. It was the second straight win for the Volunteers, who improved to 4-5.
They travel to Bradshaw Mountain Tuesday, Feb. 16 hoping to avenge a 17-point loss to the Bears on Feb. 5.
Boys Basketball
Kingman Academy 68, Parker 65
KINGMAN – Kingman Academy snapped a three-game losing skein with a narrow 68-65 win over visiting Parker on Thursday, Feb. 11. The Tigers also beat Parker 47-40 on Jan. 28.
The Tigers improved to 4-5 on the campaign with the win, while Parker slipped to 1-10 overall.
River Valley 66, Kingman Academy 55
KINGMAN – River Valley handed Kingman Academy its fourth loss in its last five games in boys basketball action on Friday, Feb. 12.
The Tigers (4-6) play at Heritage Academy Laveen at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16. Academy won the last meeting between the schools 57-27.
Girls Basketball
Parker 67, Kingman Academy 51
KINGMAN – Parker topped Kingman Academy 67-51 in a girls high school basketball game on Thursday, Feb. 11, avenging a four-point loss to the Lady Tigers on Jan. 28.
Parker improved to 6-3 with the win, while Kingman Academy fell to 4-5.
The Lady Tigers travel to Heritage Academy Laveen on Tuesday, Feb. 16 for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
Boys Soccer
Lee Williams 5, Paradise Honors 0
SURPRISE – Lee Williams High School won for the third time in four outings, beating host Paradise Honors 5-0 in a boys soccer game on Friday, Feb. 12.
The Volunteers improved to 4-2 on the season and play at Coconino High School (0-4) at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18.
