KPD investigating suspicious death of local woman

KINGMAN – The Kingman Police Department is investigating the suspicious death of a local woman that occurred at an apartment complex on Harrison Street approximately a week ago.

KPD Chief Rusty Cooper could not confirm the woman’s name, but reported the department is actively investigating the “suspicious death.” According to police, the woman was found unresponsive in the parking lot of the apartment complex. She was transported to a local hospital in critical condition prior to being air lifted to a Las Vegas hospital, where she died.

Cooper said the autopsy of the woman revealed head injuries. There were no witnesses or anything clearly defining how the injuries were received. The chief said the department knows there was some sort of a disturbance between the woman and a group of people at the complex around that time, but that it is not clear if the incidents are related.

Anyone with information is asked to contact KPD at 928-753-2191 or report anonymously to Mohave Silent Witness by calling 928-753-1234. Tips can also be submitted using the KPD app by clicking on “Submit a Tip.”

The investigation is ongoing.
