Rants and Raves | August 17, 2022

Let us know what’s on your mind in 40 words or less. Submit Rants and Raves at kdminer.com/rants–and–raves or email editorial@kdminer.com. If your rant/rave is about a specific story please mention the headline. Rants and raves must be original; not plagiarized. We receive many more rants and raves than we can print. Local rants and raves are preferred.

Ranter: I was wrong – I was wrong for being so against children and wanting so many adult-only communities in Kingman. Though I have seen my fair share of irresponsible parenting and rude and disrespectful children, there are plenty of good parents and kids.

To the grandparent defending their grandkids riding scooters in packs – Are these kids riding around the neighborhood unsupervised and trespassing on and damaging property? I have seen such in this town. It’s why so many want adult–only neighborhoods.

I enjoy the rants and raves and don’t want it fact checked or censored. If someone is too soft to read opinions they don’t agree with, why should they decide what I get to read? Give us freedom of speech!

Miner should stop the partisan rants and raves. The Kingman boomers can get all the toxic politics on many other platforms.

Hero: Lost Kingman boy makes it home thanks to an act of kindness – It’s good to see people doing “the right thing” and to see support for them in The Miner.

Hero: Lost Kingman boy makes it home thanks to an act of kindness – Congratulations to Levi Cortez. I am not surprised. Levi is a former student of mine, and I could not be prouder of what I read today in the Miner. Thanks for highlighting an example of our wonderful Kingman youths.

Karen Bumpas letter: Thank goodness for KART – Ms. Bumpas, I wholeheartedly agree. Multiple benefits to riding KART. You have time to meditate, do brain puzzles, and catch up with the news or friends? In my three years of commuting, zero flat tires or breakdowns.

Why hasn’t the City of Kingman turned off their park sprinklers? Asleep at the wheel?

KUSD board learns – No way should students not attending KUSD schools be allowed to play on sports teams. If the school/education is not good enough for them, then the sports should not be allowed either. KUSD sports need to be for KUSD students.

To the 68-year-old who loves kids: That’s great if you love them and want them in your neighborhood. Not everyone does, especially when they are disrespectful.and destructive due to irresponsible and lazy parents and grandparents.

Suggestion to suspend Rants and Raves – People seem to misunderstand what an editorial page is for. It is for the most extreme sides to be heard. It is to support Free Speech. There is never a reason to sensor content there, nor to suspend it.
