Ana Vasquez

Ana Vasquez of Kingman, Arizona passed away peacefully on Nov. 4 surrounded by her family at the age of 69.

Ana was born on July 21, 1953 and was raised in Brownsville, Texas. Her adventurous spirit led her all around the country, including New Jersey at age 24 where she raised her children.

Her love of the west coast caused her to return in 1997 eventually settling in Kingman, Arizona where she worked as a para educator at Manzanita Elementary School of the Kingman Unified School District.

Ana lived life to the fullest. She was known for her passion and independence. She had a unique ability to make an impression on everyone she met with her remarkable candor.

She loved art, music and dancing, as well as family and friends. She enjoyed her morning walks appreciating the simple beauty of nature and was very happy relaxing at home surrounded by her pets. Her contagious zest for life and words of wisdom will be missed by all who loved her.

Ana is survived by her husband Miguel Vasquez, her sister Juanita Gonzalez, her brother Antonio Martinez and his wife Raquel, her sister Manuela Rankin and her husband Tom, her brother Abel Martinez and his wife Susie, her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Rachel McKenna of New Jersey, her daughter Alexis McKenna of Kingman, her grandchildren Elisabeth and Matthew, and eight nieces and nephews.

There will be no formal public service by Ana’s request. In lieu of flowers and gifts to family, donations can be made to the American Stroke Association at https://www.stroke.org/ or the Kingman Animal Shelter https://www.friendsofmcas.org/.
