Lady Vols beat Cortez by 39

KINGMAN – The Lee Williams High School girls basketball team opened the season by hammering the Cortez Lady Colts 67-28 at home on Tuesday, Nov. 22.
Freshman guard Addison Prisciandaro made an immediate impact for the Lady Volunteers, scoring a game-high points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor and a 4-for-4 effort at the line.
Junior Brook Dixen added 10 points to the Lee Williams effort on 5-of-6 shooting from the field, while senior Avery Pettway contributed eight points by hitting 4-of-7 shorts.
Lady Volunteer senior Rebecca Arave was a force on defense, grabbing five defensive rebounds, making four steals and blocking three shots. She also scored seven points and had a game-high 12 assists.
Lee Williams won the battle of the boards by amassing 30 rebounds, including 11 collected on the offensive end.
Senior Victoria Gravell had a team-high seven rebounds while Arave had six and Dixen collected five.
Lee Williams will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Moon Valley High School in Phoenix.
The tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Lady Volunteers are 1-0, while Cortez is 0-1.
