KINGMAN — False shooting reports were made to Kingman High School on Thursday, with no injuries being reported.

According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, the campus has been cleared with no credible threats. Deputies will stay on campus to ensure student and staff safety. The school was placed on a temporary lockdown at around 12:30 p.m., according to Kingman Unified School District’s Facebook page. The school had returned to normal operations as of 1:45 p.m.

MCSO reported on Facebook that similar calls have been made throughout the state and other states. KUSD reported that the false alarms were prank calls.

At around 12:30 p.m., a call claimed a shooting occurred at KHS. Law enforcement reported the claim was false and investigated the high school. The caller has not been identified.

Bullhead City Police Department spokesperson Emily Fromelt confirmed Mohave High School received the same threat around the same time and the high school went on lockdown.

"There is no active shooter," she said. "It appears to be a false threat. We sent multiple units to the high school and thankfully, there are no threats at this time."
