A year after finishing ninth at the Division III state cross country championships but losing its top two runners to graduation, the Lee Williams boys team sped away from the other six teams to begin their season at their own multi Wednesday – and it was as if nothing had changed.

Lee Williams junior Marco Narvarte was a defensive standout for the Volunteers football team in their win Friday night. About 15 hours later, Narvarte then starred in the pool for Lee Williams winning the 50-yard freestyle and finishing third in the 100 butterfly at the 12-team Northwest Arizona Invitational at Centennial Park hosted by Kingman Academy.
